Cosmopolitan
Restaurants in Manchester
Le
Mont at Urbis
NOW CLOSED Tel:
Advance bookings: 0161-605 8282. Manchester's first elevated restaurant is to be operated
at Urbis (the
Museum of the Modern City) for the next 3 years by Urban Experience
Limited, who have successfully operated The Charles
Hallé Restaurant at the Bridgewater
Hall for the last six years. The restaurant will be on
the 5th and 6th floors of the striking new glass building, on
the corner of Cathedral Gardens (see
map) in the Millennium Quarter. It will include a 35 metre
high view of Manchester's new Exchange Square and the city beyond,
unavailable from any other location.
It is planned to offer 'modern French' cuisine using the finest
ingredients, cooked in a classical French style - with a contemporary
twist.
The clear-glazed 75-seater restaurant, which will have its own
street-level entrance, will be on two floors. Level five will
feature a welcome bar and restaurant tables for 45 covers while
the top floor, which can also be used for private events, will
have 30 covers.
The interiors will be discrete and stylish and offer spectacular
city skyline views that will be totally different by day or night.
Considerable time and effort has been put into creating the menu
and the wine list, as these needed to part of the whole experience
and as memorable as the restaurant setting itself.
Le Mont's restaurant manager will be Adrian Heeks, who recently
managed Gary Rhodes' restaurant in Trafford Park.
