    A very traditional old established Manchester Pub/Restaurant, with a most unusual aspect - tall and thin and squeezed into a narrow plot. Exceptionally good examples of English Art Nouveau style in the ceramic cladding on the exterior and the profusion of green tiles inside. Excellent bar food available. Real Ales available, including Boddingtons, Black Sheep Bitter and guest ales. Lunchtime food is reckoned by many to be the best traditional British food in the city centre. Waiter service to all tables, and an extensive quality wine list. Well worth a try! Now owned by the Victorian Chop House Company Ltd.

    Open Mon-Sat from 12noon-2.00pm and from 6.45pm-9.30pm. Times vary slightly on Sundays - phone to check. Set high in the moors this is a family run restaurant worth making the trip out to eat at. Offering a variety of food including the six course Surprise Gourmet Meal at around £30 a head.
