    A large Bank's pub just off York Street main shopping centre. Open Mon-Sat 11am-11pm, and Sundays from 12.00noon to 10.30pm. Full meals menu 12-2.30pm. Beer garden, parking, B&B. No food Tuesdays. Coffee and tea served.

  • The Spread Eagle

    Another large pub, Wilson's Ales. Residential accommodation and function room. Meals 7 days a week - 2 meals for £5.00, Saturday à la carte menu. Open all day Wed-Sat. Happy hour from 8.00pm-9.00pm with very cheap beer. Holder of the Wilson's Gold Rosette Award.

  • The White Lion Hotel
    102 Yorkshire Street, Rochdale. Tel: 01706-860287.
    A Thwaites pub on Rochdale's busiest shopping street. Function rooms and parties catered for. Home-made food, tea and coffee from Mon-Sat 11.30am to 2.30pm. Daily blackboard food specials.

  • The Regal Moon

    Large central yuppie pub (an old converted cinema), part of the Wetherspoon nationwide chain, expensively refurbished with spacious areas. Largely dedicated to food, with an extensive menu of snack and tapas type meals, (jackets, salads, burgers, chicken, steaks), with a smattering of ethnic dishes like baltis, pasta and chilli. No music, no children, no pets!

    Real Ales include Lees Bitter, Taylor's Mild and Bitter as well as guest ales. A small intimate hillside pub with beer garden, good food, good beer and real fire. Restaurant bistro opening soon.

  • Cask & Feather
    1 Oldham Road, Rochdale. Tel: 01706-711476.
    Open Mon - Sat from 11.00am - 11.00pm and on Sunday from 12noon - 10.30pm. Several Real Ales on offer, including its own brewed Thomas McGuinness Mild, Best Bitter, Special Reserve Junction and Tommy Todd Porter. Owned and run by this small independent brewery 20 minutes walk from the Victoria Railway Station. Uncluttered unpretentious and cosy interior.

  • The Cemetery
    470 Bury Road, Spotland, Rochdale OL11 5EU. Tel: 01706-645635.
    Open Mon-Sat from 12noon - 11.00pm and on Sunday from noon till 10.30pm. Several real ales offered, including Timothy Taylors, Landlord, Dark Mild, Best Bitter, Tetleys Bitter and several guest ales. Mid-terraced but with good northern interior heated by a real fire. Good beverages, lunchtime and evening meals and snacks. Popular with Rochdale Football Club supporters on home match days.

  • Midland Beer Company
    826 Manchester Road, Castleton, Rochdale. Tel: 01706-750873.
    Open from 11.30am-11.00pm from Mon-Sat, and 12noon-10.30pm on Sundays. Timothy Taylors Best, Thwaites Bitter and several guest ales on offer. An open plan pub, located opposite Castleton Rail Station in a former Midland Bank building which has been reasonably well and comfortably converted to its new use.
