Capoeira is music, an
acrobatic dance, a fight and a game. Developed by slaves in
Brazil, now an art form embraced worldwide. Professor Tijolo
has trained Capoeira since 1989 and was one of the first British
students to qualify as an instructor. He established Capoeira
Norte in 1997 with the aim of introducing the art form to the
north. In October 2005 he opened the first full time Capoeira
space outside of London. The Northern Capoeira Centre is dedicated
solely to the training, research, and development of Capoeira.
