Shopping in Cheshire - Farmers' Markets
including Greater Manchester

Cheshire Farmers' Markets

A Farmers' Market is where local producers can sell their own food and drink direct to the public. A FARMA certified farmers' market meets the strict trading guidelines which have been established by The National Farmers' Retail & Markets Association (FARMA) for stallholders to follow to ensure the highest standard of food safety and quality for the consumer. For further information visit www.farmersmarkets.net

Made in Cheshire

If you want to find out more about where you can buy local produce call 01244 603 822. "Made In Cheshire" is dedicated to the promotion of all food and drink from Cheshire. It actively supports local producers in the development of quality new products and assists with marketing and health and safety issues.
Details of dates and times of Cheshire Farmer's Markets can be found at the "Made in Cheshire" website at www.madeincheshire.com .

What you can expect from Farmers' Markets

Farmers' Markets encourage us to return to buying from local producers - farmers, butchers, bakers, fishmongers - not only out of nostalgia but as a way to find the best quality food and service around. The produce on sale is diverse: from fruit and vegetables, meats and dairy produce to wine, jams, chutneys, pies, herbs and even speciality rare breed meats. The produce has all been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed locally.
The added incentive to shop at a Farmers' Market is quality of the service. The producers are experts of their own produce, offering information on ingredients and advise on the best way to cook and serve the produce. They can even suggest some recipes to try!
But remember, all produce is locally grown and harvested in season, so don't expect strawberries in December. You will, however, find the most flavoursome, highest quality food delivered by local producers who want you to enjoy their foods.
