Citizens' Advice Bureaux in Greater Manchester

The Citizens' Advice Bureaux are a nationwide free help and advice resource, manned by trained volunteers and may refer enquiries to more expert advisors when and if required. Usually, no appointment is necessary, (but it might be wise to make one), and matters are dealt with sympathetically, confidentially and fairly promptly. CABs offer general advice on a variety of matters, including matrimonial, legal, tax, rights, welfare, housing and benefits. CABs offer free advice but this in NOT a free legal service, and should not be regarded as a substitute for solicitors or lawyers, though occasionally solicitors are on hand for specialised matters. Advice may include such things as tax, benefits, personal liabilities, and a host of other related matters.
