Lynne Roberts
The Artist
Lynne Roberts
was born in Blackley, Manchester in 1946 and left Manchester Central
High School in 1963 to start to train for Textile Designing.
She worked
for a time at The Calico Printers Association on Oxford Street,
Manchester. However the kind of imposed limitations on self expression
which commercial design brought about made her decide on a career
change and in 1966 she went to work at Manchester Town Hall; since
then she has pursued her love of art on a personal basis.
Her ideas
are expressed in pen and ink, collage and water colour. Her own
