The Artist
Adel Kay is
based in the North of Manchester. She specialises in watercolours,
acrylics and mixed media collages. In 1993 Adel graduated in Beauty
Therapy which gave her extensive experience of working with colour.
Her work is informed by bold use of colour and design.
Adel has been
commissioned for a number of years to work with Schools in the
Community to produce textile and 3D animated pieces for annual
Mega Melas. She has received various painting commissions from
private and commercial collectors both in the UK and as far as
the US. She has also exhibited twice at Gallery Oldham's Open
Exhibition.
Adel says
"I
particularly enjoy working with children in the community where
I can express creative ideas through the use of vibrant colours
and different fabric textures. I am currently developing my
knowledge and skills of embroidery and aim to contextualise
my art in the future using design and embroidery techniques."
