Situated in the heart of the thriving town of Hexham, the hotel dominates the street of Priestpopple. Built in 1820, the original coaching house was known as the 'New' or 'Low Grey Bull', eventually to become 'The Royal Hotel' in around 1870. Since taking over the hotel in April 1998 the present owners have restored The Royal Hotel to its former glory, and after extensive refurbishment and modernisation, the hotel is now fully prepared to welcome visitors for the 21st century. All the bedrooms are on the 3rd floor.
