Hotels in Blackpool & St Annes

Including Guest Houses, Boarding Houses and
B&B Accommodation in Lytham St Annes

Blackpool is renowned for its accommodation and hospitality.
From a popular Victorian and Edwardian holiday resort, populated in
summertime by workers from the Industrial Midlands and Manchester, it
has maintained it’s distinctive Lancashire Fylde Coast character. It
has much to offer for the holidaymaker, day-tripper, partygoer or week-ender.
It’s landladies are legend, but good quality accommodation, good home-cooked
food and a friendly welcome are usually guaranteed. It has also lately
become a major destination for Hen and Stag Parties. It has many entertainments
on offer – the Blackpool Pleasure Beach with three piers, variety shows,
night clubs, cabarets, restaurants of every possible ethnic cuisine,
extensive clean sands and the bracing walk along the seafront. In autumn
are the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations, popular and busy, and
ideal for a late season weekend break.

Some of the most popular hotels, guest houses and
boarding houses in the town are found on the seafront, facing the Promenade.
Typical is the Savoy Hotel on Queen’s Promenade; a 3 star rated hotel
which is rich in features dating back to its Victorian origins, set
in an imposing building standing on the front on Blackpool’s quieter
North Shore. The hotel restaurant offers a wide range of traditional
and international dishes and an extensive wine list. It has 131 rooms,
on-site car parking and special rates for children.

The 2 star rated Grand Metropole Hotel is a major
landmark at the northern end of Blackpool and is the only hotel on the
beach side of the Promenade and boasts views of the world famous Blackpool
Tower and the North Pier. It has 177 rooms, most ensuite, a restaurant
and public bar. Then there is the towering edifice of the Norbreck
Castle, a 3 star hotel overlooking the seafront on the North Shore,
and benefits from its prime location in the quieter part of Blackpool,
offering many rooms with wonderful sea views. It attracts many large
coach parties, often of mature people, and is a popular establishment
in September when the Illuminations are switched on.

Or the Park House Hotel, with its with 103 en-suite
bedrooms, situated on the prestigious North Promenade and offering entertainment
each evening in either the Bar lounge or Ballroom. Ample parking with
three large car parks surrounding the hotel. And not forgetting the
Big Blue Classic Hotel, located at the Pleasure Beach. The 156 room,
3 star rated, Big Blue Hotel boasts every kind of facility and specialises
in Family rooms.

The Claremont Hotel is another, located on the North
Promenade and is a 159 room hotel, (one of the Choice Hotel chain),
offering its guests live cabaret entertainment nightly. Its leisure
facilities include an indoor heated pool, gym, Jacuzzi and sauna, the
Jungle Club for children, luxury sea view lounges, a café bar,
and a cabaret room , as well as facilities for the disabled, lift, laundry
service, car park and family rooms with cots available.

But Blackpool would be nothing without its army of
landladies running their many small boarding houses. Known for their
visitor-friendly comforts and budget prices, they are the preferred
choice of many, and have been for the best part of a century. Typical
is the Hatton Hotel in Banks Street, just off the Promenade. This is
a small 12 bedroom, family run corner guest house, and ideally situated
adjacent to the North Pier. Also typical are its facilities: a bar,
family rooms with cot if required, TV and tea & coffee making facilities
in all rooms. There is the Brooklyn Hotel in Wilton Parade – another
small popular family-run hotel of 17 bedrooms. Or there is the Croydon
Hotel on Empress Drive,a 4 Diamond Accredited Hotel. Family run in the
select area of North Shore only 50 yards from the Promenade with a free
private car park and offers discounted rates for senior citizens.
