Hotels & Guest Houses in Keswick

Including Accommodation in Bassenthwaite Lake,
Ireby, Thirlmere & Borrowdale

Keswick is a major Lakeland town which sits on the
shores of Derwentwater and is overlooked by Skiddaw, one of the most
imposing mountain backdrops in the Northern Fells of the English Lake
District. Hotels and Guest House accommodation abound in the town as
well as surrounding areas like Borrowdale, Ireby and Thirlmere.

Woodside Guest House on the Penrith Road in
Keswick is typical; a small family-run 5 bedroom B&B residence with
its own large garden. Also typical of Lakeland generosity are the substantial
breakfasts that are provided at Woodside, as well as the packed lunches
which are available on request, convenient for the many hill walkers,
ramblers and climbers who use Keswick as a base for outdoor pursuits.

superb food and wine and a beautiful rural location overlooking the
fells with their awe-inspiring spectacular views. Located 5 minutes

Just a few miles out of Keswick, at Thirlmere, is
the roadside Kings Head Hotel, a former 17th century coaching

and inn is surrounded by spectacular scenery with unsurpassed views
toward St Johns in the Vale, Blencathra and Skiddaw. With award winning
food served in two individual restaurants, residents lounge, bar lounge
and individually furnished rooms, the Kings offers a traditional base
from which to explore this wonderful region.

There are also many town centre hotels, including
the Kings Arms Hotel in the Main Street of Keswick; a 2 star
rated, 13 bedroom old coaching inn, offering today’s travellers that
same unrivalled hospitality and friendly service it has done for centuries.
Kings Arms food is served in the oak beamed Courtyard Restaurant. Also
in Main Street is the Queens Hotel, a 35 bedroom 3 star rated hotel,
fully renovated to modern day standards. Still on Main Street you can
find the Skiddaw Hotel; this 40 bedroom, 3 star rated hotel is imposing
yet welcoming and provides an oasis in the centre of this bustling market

Further afield is Greenbank Country House, an old
Victorian residence, quietly situated in its own grounds in the heart
of Borrowdale. From its elevated site there are magnificent views of
Derwentwater. It is three and a half miles south of Keswick. Then there
is the Scafell Hotel in the centre of Borrowdale, located at
the foot of Great Gable and the Scafell Massif, surrounded by mighty
fells, tranquil meadows and crystal clear waters.

Keswick, the surrounding region and its villages offer quality friendly
service, with many comfortable hotel, B&Bs and guest houses making
it a perfect base for exploring the Lake District National Park.
