The Manchester United Megastore

Merchandising for the club began in 1992 when Edward Freedman was employed to develop the facility, formerly run by 2 people and one telephone. He commandeered a large old building at the back of the stadium. The present megastore, (the third since then), is now located at the front of the ground on Sir Matt Busby Way. Busy on matchdays and during school holidays, the store sells a wide range of Man United branded items, from footballs and magazines to football strips. From 2002 Nike will have taken over merchandising operations at the megastore.

The Red Café at Old Trafford

Located above the Museum on the North Stand, the Red Café is an extension of the Museum and is in itself a showcase for much of the Club's memorabilia. Food tends to be of the fast food variety, with burgers, chicken wings and fries very much in evidence, served by staff dressed in United kits, and with match videos running continuously - very much a fans' haunt.
