The Macdonald Kilhey Court on Chorley Road, Standish is set in open countryside with panoramic views of Worthington Lakes and its own well-tended 10 acres of landscaped gardens. This is a 4 star hotel of 62 rooms, set in an original Victorian building, offering full leisure facilities with aerobics studio, pool and high tech fitness machines. Located within a few minutes of the motorway network and only 3 miles from Wigan town centre. An ideal setting for relaxing accommodation. It also boasts its award winning Laureate Restaurant, a bar, heated swimming pool, sauna, spa gym, meeting and conference rooms.

Another fairly large and centrally located hotel is the Wigan Oak, formerly the Quality Hotel Wigan, in Orchard Street. This 3 star rated hotel is just minutes from the famous Wigan Pier and town centre, with easy access to many of the North West's major attractions including Blackpool, Camelot Theme Park, Chester and the Lake District. This modern hotel is an ideal choice for business or pleasure. They can cater for before- and after-meals on race days in the small restaurant which provides good home cooked food. Also on Warrington Road is the Sporting Lodge (The Greyhound Hotel).
