Two relatively new hotels, opened in Autumn 2000 and late 2001, these are part of the Accor Hotels chain (also own Novotel, Mercure Hotels, Formule 1, Sofitel Red Roof Inns, Motel 6, Studio 6, Etap and others), widespread through Europe and the USA, just recently appearing in Britain. Basic, clean, consistent - all rooms ensuite with bath and /or shower, cable/satellite TV. Café and/or restaurants on site. The first has 128 bedrooms, on site parking. Located next to UMIST, behind the BBC Oxford Road studios, just south of the city centre, easily reached from the Mancunian Way flyover. The second is located halfway between Piccadilly Gardens and Oxford Street in a prestige purpose-built complex.
