The Octagon has a national reputation for modern interpretations
of Shakespearean play, as well as for the production of modern
drama. It's a successful theatre which attracts visitors from
all over the north-west of England, and frequently attracts
international theatre groups, as well as specialist events,
like snooker tournaments.
It has recently opened a second stage for the production of
more experimental works of drama.
Open from Monday to Saturday, with evening performances and
matinées, and prices ranging from about £4.50 to just over £10.00.

A small suburban theatre which hosts many other visiting companies,
including the M6 Theatre Company. Booking at the Met in Market
Street from Monday to Friday, 9.30am-5.00pm, Saturday 10.00am
to 4.00pm, and for 1 hour before each performance.

Bolton
Little Theatre, established in 1931, is an amateur group with
charity status and relies on box office takings, membership
fees and charitable donations to pay for the upkeep of the Theatre.
The theatres main proscenium arch auditorium seats 165 in traditional
rows and the Forge, an intimate theatre in the round has seating
for 60.
The
theatre also has a comfortable bar and exhibition area where
one can enjoy a pre-performance drink, or mingle with the cast
after the show.
We anticipate the usual high demand for our performances, so
do book early to avoid disappointment. New members are always
welcome, come along to any Monday Evening Club Night and introduce

Bolton Little Theatre is a member of the Greater Manchester
Drama Federation and The Little Theatre Guild of Great Britain.

As part of Oldham College, the Grange Arts Centre offers a
full programme of theatrical and dramatic performances, as
well as a full range of practical vocational training in all
aspects of Theatre and Media, for both young people and adults.
Performances range from modern works by such playwrights as
Alan Bleasdale, to musicals like "Calamity Jane".
The Manchester Youth Dance Theatre group and Oldham Symphony
Orchestra frequently present programmes here too.

Tucked away in a side street, Oldham's prestigious Coliseum
is a local friendly repertory theatre which celebrated its
centenary in 1987. It has a reputation for ambitious productions.
Its beautiful interior makes it a great period classic in
theatre terms, and has seen the likes of local performers
such as Eric Sykes,
Charlie Chaplin, Dame
Thora Hird and Dora
Bryan tread its boards.

An amateur theatre with a licensed bar offering a varied programme
of comedies, thrillers and drama. Alumni include Frank Finlay,
Jim Cartwright and Ian Hastings. The Theatre Box Office is
open 5.30pm from the Monday two weeks preceding each play;
postal booking forms are available from the website. Farnworth
Little Theatre is a membership organisation, and welcomes
new members in a variety of capacities (set building, painting,
design, wardrobe, makeup, performance, etc) - please contact
the membership secretary on membership@farnworthlittletheatre.co.uk

club nights, meet a few members, have a chat and a drink?
Membership costs £7.50 per annum. The theatre also runs
a youth group for 11-18 year olds

complex. The Lyric, with 1750 seats, and the smaller Quays
