Thai Restaurants

Singaporean Restaurants

Manchester has just a few Singaporean restaurants whose cuisine is a product of centuries of cultural interaction owing to its strategic location with influences of Malay, Chinese, Indonesian, Indian, Peranakan and Western traditions including English and Portuguese or Eurasian style cooking.

    This is Manchester's only true Singaporean restaurant. Also serves traditional Chinese dishes. It offers a rather limited but good Singaporean menu. Singaporean cuisine is very similar to Malaysian and Thai food (midway between Chinese and Indian), perfumed and spicy.

Nepalese Restaurants

The cultural and geographic diversity of Nepal has allowe a wide variety of cuisines to emerge. Spicy lentil soup (dal) is popular, served over boiled grain, (bhat) or with vegetable curry, (tarkari). Typical condiments include an extremely spicy fermented pickle chutney (achaar).

Korean Restaurants

Korean cuisine is largely based upon rice, noodles, tofu, vegetables and meats. Traditional Korean meals are noted for the number of side dishes that accompany steam-cooked short-grain rice. Kimchi is served often, sometimes at every meal. Commonly used ingredients include sesame oil, fermented bean paste, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, pepper flakes and fermented red chili paste. Mongolian Restaurants

Mongolian cuisine primarily consists of dairy products, meat, and animal fats and vegetables and spices are very limited. Due to geographic proximity and deep historic ties with China and Russia, Mongolian cuisine is also influenced by the cuisines of these countries.
