Manchester's
Northern Quarter has for many years been the location for creative
arts like design and fashion studios and art galleries, though in
recent years it has grown popular for its pubs, cafés, bars
and restaurants, and is a vibrant area for both amenity, relaxation

Apotheca bar opened in Manchester city centre in November 2008 and
is situated in a listed building in the creative Northern Quarter
district. The name comes from the antique pharmacy cabinets, which
grace the front bar that were originally used to provide medicinal
relief in the form of a remedy. Décor is a mixture of high
bar stools, classic Queen Anne chairs, solid bistro tables and black

Formerly known as Bar 57, subsequently fully refurbished, with
air conditioning, but maintaining many of the original features of
the original cotton mill. Four 46 LCD televisions and a projector
screen broadcast sporting events and music videos. As well as cocktails
and beers, on offer is a selection of teas, coffees, smoothies and
milkshakes, for consumption in the bar or to take away. Food includes
sharing platters, sandwiches, and burgers amongst other dishes.

Quirky pub much favoured by younger clientele, with wall murals which
are repainted regularly and art exhibitions rotated every four months
or so to give this space a constant sense of movement. Drinks include
Staropramen, Fruli, Stella, Hoegaarden, Guinness and Leffe on draught.
In bottles theres a choice selection including Vedett, Tiger,
Budweiser, Erdinger Brothers pear cider, Addlestones Cloudy
Cider and Magners.

A large pub is located on the corner of Oldham Road and Great Ancoats
Street and dates probably from the early 19th century. There has been
a pub on the site since 1734. Restored and reopened in 2005, now divided
into three separate areas the main bar and separate vault,
both with ornate and unusually high ceilings, and a modern snug.
