  One of those small, cosy pubs which is out of the way and easily by-passed, but well worth finding. Beer garden. Folk singing every Wednesday night. Robinsons beers. Open Mon-Sat : 1.00pm-4.00pm and 7.00pm-10.30pm. Sunday : 12noon-3.00pm and 7.00pm-10.30pm.

  Riverside pub with excellent quayside beer garden. Named in honour of Mark Addy, a local Salford lifesaver, much decorated for rescuing 50 or so people from a sinking boat on the Irwell. Large cheese and pâté lunches. Boddingtons & Marstons. Open Mon-Sat : 11.30am-11.00pm. Sundays 12noon-3.00pm and 7.00pm-10.30pm.

  A pub much favoured by students from the University campus opposite. Fascinating interior with a vast collection of memorabilia and "junk" of the nicest kind. Greenhalls, Tetleys and Stones Bitters. Frequent live bands and music. Open Mon-Fri : 11.00am-11.00pm; Saturday : 7.00pm-11.00pm; Sunday: 7.00pm-10.30pm.

  Don't be put off by the dour and rather dismal exterior - this is an interestingly odd pub on the inside, with a wide range of beers and food, (specialising in excellent curries). Popular with students and good beer fanatics. Marstons and Matthew Brown beers with frequent "guest" beers on tap. Open Mon-Fri : 12noon-11.00pm; Saturday : 7.30pm-11.00pm; Sunday : 12noon-2.30pm and 7.00pm-10.30pm.

  Holts Bitter and Mild beers on sale here. An old Edwardian pub, rich in mahogany wood, glazed ceramic tiles and etched glass. Popular with locals. One of the very first Joseph Holt pubs dating from 1865, and rebuilt in 1906 with typical eccentricity and ornamentation, exuding in rich mahogany, etched glass and decorative ceramic tiles.
