Excellent selection of pots and plant containers. Café-restaurant serving a small selection of main meals and snacks, sandwiches and toasted sandwiches. Toilets and ample car parking on site. Licenced.

Another large and popular garden centre with all the usual facilities. All garden requisites including plants, trees and shrubs for indoors and outdoors. On site hardware and ironmongery store and Aquatic Centre specialising in ponds and cold water fish (including Koi), as well as a limited selection of tropical fish. Large restaurant with full meal waitress service (no smoking). Large on-site car parking area. Busy at weekends and holidays.

Open April-September : Wednesdays and Sundays. July, August : Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday. October-March : Sundays only. 11.30am-5.00pm (all days weather permitting). A pleasant train ride through a beautiful garden centre, with 5 engines, a complete station filled with a permanent exhibition of artefacts and memorabilia, as well as books and models. Authentic west country waiting room with roaring open fire. Built run and maintained by railway enthusiasts. Free admission to the station. Train rides at 60p per person.

Opening times: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 9.00pm; Saturday 8.30am - 5.30pm; Sunday 9.00am - 5.00pm. Last food orders at the Fresh Approach Restaurant are ½ hour before the Garden Centre closes.

Winner of the "Best Overall Garden Centre in the UK" Award, Bents began as a small back garden in the early 1940s and has now grown into one of the regions largest and most favourite for would-be gardeners. It has all the usual features and products you'd expect of a large garden centre, as well as a café and the Fresh Approach Restaurant. Other departments in the centre include the Edinburgh Woollen Mill and a golf shop. Garden Plant Advisory Service, Pets & Aquatic Centre.
More than half of all plants sold are grown in Bents' own 50 acre nurseries, and they offer a 5 year replacement guarantee on all shrubs.

Just off the A580 East Lancashire Road (out of Manchester through Salford) at the Greyhound Roundabout. Brown tourist signs are in evidence from here pointing the way to the Garden Centre.
