Greater Manchester Conference & Convention Centres

Business tourism in the UK accounts for 15% of all tourism visits. Business visitors are also crucial to investment decisions. The city's international reputation as the best-known British regional city, coupled with the creation of a dedicated convention and tourism centre and major investment in the city's infrastructure, has resulted in major international and domestic conferences coming to the city. A sign of the city's strong research and higher education sector is that Manchester has become a leading choice for medical and pharmaceutical conferences. Manchester has now become the largest convention market outside London and a significant international location.
Manchester Town Hall, UMIST's Manchester Conference Centre, the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza Midland Hotel and the Universities are very popular venues. The conference facilities in the city will be further enhanced by the development of the Great Northern Warehouse to provide a mixture of conference, retail and commercial facilities.
