Jim Tattersall

The Artist

A Manchester man, Jim Tattersall was brought up in Chorlton and attended Saint Clements School and Manchester Regional Collage of Art.

He started painting around 2002 upon retirement and has developed a fascination for the effects of light and reflections on water, concentrating on familiar scenes in and around Manchester.

He uses oil and acrylic paints, experimenting with colour and oil media to achieve bold effects and depth, portraying the activities of ordinary people. His city views are more often than not depicted 'after the rain', illustrating rich reflections dancing on Manchester puddles - his favourite theme.
