
The Artist
Angela Munslow is an accomplished figurative sculptor and painter
who was born in Sandbach, Cheshire. She has a degree in Chemistry,
and a BEd Hons. Degree in Physical Science and trained as a
figurative sculptor between 1990 -1992 at the Sir Henry Doulton
School of Sculpture.
Since finishing
studies in 1992 she has been a professional artist, working
on commissions, public and garden sculpture, work for interior
design and galleries, portraiture, giftware, trophies and reliefs.
Exhibiting widely in the UK, her work can also be found in private
collections in Europe and Worldwide.
She has
exhibited at many Group Shows including at Manchester Academy
of Fine Arts, Bury Museum, Manchester Metropolitan University
Art Gallery, as well as shows in Chelsea, Stoke, Shrewsbury,
Leek, Strathclyde, Southport and London.
Her Solo
Shows have been seen at Chester, Newcastle and Oswestry. Some
of her work is held in private collections at the Royal Doulton
Museum, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent and in Stapeley Water Gardens
in Cheshire.
Angela's
interest lies in the figure and her sculpture and paintings
reflect this. Angela says:
"My
second love is nature and I like to sculpt natural forms,
animals, and paint landscapes, animals and flowers. I work
in most mediums, and my sculpture is reproduced in bronze,
resins, ceramic, and stone based materials, whilst my sketches
and paintings are in oils, watercolour, acrylic, pastels,
conté and charcoal".
Angela works
mainly to commission but has undertaken many workshops and residences
with schools and communities, particularly in Newcastle, Staffordshire
and Cheshire.
She currently
lives in Alsager in Cheshire.
